Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of a Superintendent, your roles and responsibilities as Assistant Superintendent would encompass the following:

  • Project Coordination – Demonstrate an understanding of trade-specific work/scope and how it fits together and affects other trades. Ability to contact and direct subcontractors, suppliers, testing lab, rental equipment companies, security, and temporary labor.
  • Project Knowledge – Ability to recognize conflicts in construction documents and in the field before they happen. Has intimate knowledge of the work site and can direct work according to the Superintendent’s direction.
  • Schedule Management - Demonstrates the ability to prepare, adjust, and adhere to a 3-week look ahead and overall project schedules. Display a sense of urgency.
  • Quality Management – Demonstrates commitment to quality construction and utilizing the guidelines set forth in the WCC QA/QC program (Quality Activity List, material verification, non-conformance tracking, exterior envelope QA, photography, etc.)
  • Safety Management - Exhibits an unwavering commitment to safety, including assisting with weekly safety meetings and taking preemptive measures to ensure safe work practices.
  • Contract Knowledge - Understand subcontracts, subcontractor responsibilities, and subcontractor scope of work.
  • Relationship Management - Formulates relationships with subcontractor field personnel based on mutual respect and knowledge.
  • Communication Skills – Have an ability to convey your message both verbally and in writing in a professional, intelligent, and concise manner.

Educaton/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • 1-4+ years’ experience in similar construction project types
