As we aim to expand our Houston presence, the Director / VP of Healthcare will primarily be responsible for the business unit's growth, profitability, and sustainability through leadership, new business development, client management, and service delivery. This position will report directly to the President of the company.

***Commercial construction experience required.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the President, your roles and responsibilities as Director / VP of Healthcare would encompass the following:

Project pursuits / Business Development:

  • Develop new business opportunities with existing and new clients and drive the client diversification agenda.
  • Develop and maintain a network that will assist in obtaining annual revenue goals.
  • Manage new and existing client relationships in growing revenue through contract renewals, referrals, and service expansion.
  • Construct bids for new work in concert with business generation and senior management.
  • Track and pursue projects to achieve the goals set in the Go To Market Plan.
  • Leading the pursuit and coordinating all efforts (with Marketing, Estimating, project teams, other Executives, design teams, the Owner/Owners Rep).

Relationship Management:

  • Regularly follow up with key contacts.
  • Establish G&O and maintain throughout the year.
  • Understand local and regional market trends and uses research skills to gain information on markets that become the basis of company planning goals.
  • Actively participate in industry, client, and community relations to enhance company image.

Preconstruction:

  • Lead effort during pre-construction services (attend recurring design meetings, design to the established budget, coordinate budgeting and estimating efforts, coordinate early activities and long lead items that could affect construction, manage constructability and BIM reviews).
  • Providing guidance to Estimating Team Leads with regards to GCs and contingencies on all pricing efforts.
  • Supervise subcontract bidding and negotiations (must approve all subcontracts and major material purchase orders.).
  • Prepare and maintain development schedules. Track project progress and keep the Regional Director and CFO up to date on potential start dates and contract values.
  • Negotiate prime contracts.
  • Procuring required project insurances and bonds (if required).

Project Leader:

  • Maintain full responsible for P&L for assigned projects.
  • Lead project planning, including conducting project kick-off meetings and planning sessions.
  • Push project teams to adhere to WCC Safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that scheduling procedures are followed – baseline schedule, monthly updates, three-week ahead scheduling.
  • Supervise the activities of the project team to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Fully understand the staffing needs/requirements for all phases of your assigned projects.
  • Make jobsite visits and meet with project teams at least monthly to have an in depth review of the project.
